NCSL is looking to recruit a Transport Manager to lead the company’s transport function, managing nine authorised vehicles on an operator’s licence, split between two operating centres along with up to 200 non-operator vehicles. You will have responsibility for the company’s Operator licence and vehicle compliance will be your top priority, advising operational teams on all transport matters and relevant legislation whilst ensuring a cost effective and efficient fleet.
Role details
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will effectively manage fleet contracts with third-party vehicle providers and take the lead of procurement of additional vehicles where required, with key tasks including monitoring and auditing processes regularly in line with Operator licence requirements and best practice. Proactive in your approach, you will look to implement innovations and environmental improvements through trialling of new plant machinery and electric vehicles.
Who we’re looking for
Due to the requirements of the Operators Licence, you will be required to hold a CPC in Transport Management/Road Haulage operations. Due to duties currently being covered on an interim basis, if you will have substantial experience in fleet management and delivery of a compliant transport service but do not currently hold a CPC we would also welcome your application. Whilst having extensive knowledge of the legislative requirements you will be an inspiring communicator who is able to articulate information effectively to leadership, management and operatives.

We are looking for a multi-skilled streets and grounds operative to join our team based at Hurricane Way in Norwich. Within this role the postholder will help maintain and improve the standard of our streets, parks, open spaces, housing areas and highway verges.
The duties of the role will ential driving and operating a ride on mower with additional knap sack spraying, litter picking and grounds maintenance duties such as hoeing, pruning, hedge cutting and grass cutting .The postholder will hold a full driving licence and have demonstrable experience working in a physical role.
Further responsibilities of this role will revolve around basic care and maintenance to plant, tools and equipment, therefore, knowledge of employee obligations with regard to health and safety is essential as well as the ability and willingness to utilise mechanical equipment and be subsequently trained on the use of such equipment.
Within this role you may come into contact with the general public and as such customer service experience would be beneficial for this role.

NCSL Ltd is a newly created limited company wholly owned by Norwich City Council, responsible for delivering key environmental and building maintenance operations to the City of Norwich. Within this role you will be part of a small team of Aborists and will provide tree maintenance operations over a range of specific activities to ensure that the tree maintenance and arboricultural standards are maintained throughout or clients sites.
Within this role, the postholder will be responsible for organising the deployment of vehicles, plant machinery and hands-on co-oridnation of special works and operations therefore a full UK driving license is essential. It is desirable for the postholder to hold a Category B+E Driving License/ LGV and pay will be amended to reflect this, training will be provided for this if the postholder does not hold this currently.
The postholder is also required to hold City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 for Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting, Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm, Tree Climbing and Rescue and a Level 3 award in Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw using Free-Fall Techniques.
Due the nature of the role, the postholder may be working as part of a team or under their own initivative, therefore experience in aerial and ground tree work is essential and experience in performing areial rescues if required.
The postholder must be willing to undertake training and successfully complete C1+E Entitlement within 6 months from the date of appointment if not otherwise currently held.

We are looking for an Electrician who will carry out fault finding, diagnosis, appropriate repairs and new electrical installation work on Norwich City Council Properties. This is a varied role and the postholder will need to have the ability to adapt to different working conditions and be able to work individually or as part of a team.
The post holder will need to have City & Guilds Electrical Qualifications or an equivalent recognised apprenticeship, City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition wiring regulations, a full UK Driving License and willing to be clean shaven, if applicable, for the role.
The role will require the post holder to interpret electrical schematic diagrams, reports and drawings therefore extensive experience in a domestic or electrical trade will be beneficial. Alongside this it is essential that records are up to date and accurate to ensure that we are providing the best possible service and making informed decision based on the relevant information so analytical and report writing skills will be needed for this role.
